HOURLY : $20.24 - $34.66 commensurate with experience.

PROJECT OVERVIEW :

Under the general supervision of the Supervisor - HR Employee Benefits, the Benefit and Compensation Coordinator is responsible for the administration, communication, and coordination of employee benefits, wellness, and compensation programs. The position is responsible for providing guidance and support to employees regarding their benefits and compensation, the accurate and timely completion of day-to-day administrative duties, and delivering excellent customer service ensuring employees receive prompt and accurate information. Position will also assist with projects and reporting activities, audit and document processing, and maintaining accurate employee and retiree records while ensuring compliance with all laws, regulations, policies and procedures.

EDUCATION :

  • Human Resources, Business, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Bachelor’s or related degree preferred at Senior or above level

EXPERIENCE :

0 - 3 or more years of experience

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :

  • Knowledge of welfare and retirement benefits plans including, but not limited to, medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, flexible spending and health savings accounts, employee assistance programs, 401(k) and pension plans.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, web-based, and related job-specific software applications. Experience with UKG Pro (UltiPro) preferred.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with various levels of internal and external customers in a professional, courteous, and timely manner via phone, email, and in person.
  • Working knowledge of the leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, ADA, and other applicable laws.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements, including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other benefit-related topics.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to prepare reports and presentations.
  • Strong presentation skills necessary to clearly and effectively deliver information to large groups of employees on a variety of benefit, wellness, and compensation-related topics.
  • Ability to promote and drive participation in employee benefit and wellness programs.
  • Strong time management and organization skills with attention to detail and accuracy and ability to manage competing tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, utilizing a high degree of professionalism, autonomy, and collaborative skills when resolving problems.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with managers and fellow employees.
  • Ability to maintain a strong sense of propriety concerning confidential matters.
  • ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

  • Must be able to understand, interpret and explain the Company’s benefit plan provisions in such a manner that promotes employee understanding and engagement.
  • Actively promotes employee engagement in benefit and wellness programs.
  • May develop communication tools and materials to enhance understanding awareness of the benefits offered by EPE.
  • May assist with the preparation / coordination of new-hire benefit orientations, annual open enrollment meetings and ongoing benefit and wellness trainings at the various locations as needed.
  • Responsible for entering and maintaining employee benefit records both electronically and hardcopy.
  • Provide ongoing customer service to clients, internal contacts, and insurance carriers via email and telephone.
  • May assist with administrative tasks relating to annual audit or compliance activities for all benefit related plans.
  • Prepares and maintains job descriptions for each position in the organization.
  • May job shadow employees and managers to gather and document job, information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job.
  • Evaluates internal processes to reduce cost and increase efficiency.
  • Complies with all applicable Company policies, procedures and code of ethics as well as all applicable governmental laws and regulations.
  • Performs other related tasks that are not specifically included but are within the context of the duties defined.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT :

  • The incumbents in this classification are not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; primary work environment is typically an office or administrative nature.
  • May work non-standard hours.
  • May require travel to Company work sites.
  • May require out of town travel.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

  • Sedentary work : Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and / or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Stooping : Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
  • Crouching : Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.

  • Fingering : Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling.
  • Grasping : Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
  • Feeling : Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape and temperature or texture by touching with skin, i.e., fingertips.
  • Talking : Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities in which detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Hearing : Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on machined parts.
  • Repetitive motions : Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and / or fingers.
  • Visual acuity : Color, depth perception and field of vision to include measurement devices for close inspection and analysis.
