Positions : Design Drafter

Primary Objective of the Position :
The Design Drafter will create and maintain designs, layouts, drawings, and documentation required for product lines, which include motors, generators and magnetic drives. Will follow internal and internationals standards, as well as applicable specifications in order to achieve satisfactory product performance. Product lines contain both standard and custom designs with high engineering content. Additionally, support customer orders from the proposal phase thru the design, development, manufacturing, testing, and field service / aftermarket phases. Responsible for collaboration and sharing of best design practices within the WEG Company.
Major Areas of Accountability :
- Responsible for creating and maintaining standards, designs, drawings, and specifications for quotations, products, and aftermarket.
- Responsible for creating project schedules to complete projects in required time.
- Resolves production problems, and render technical and process assistance to shop.
- Ensures manufacturability input provided by Manufacturing Engineering is incorporated into designs.
- Provides support to Marketing on inquiries and new orders to assure technical and economic feasibility.
- Performs other activities as required by the Leader or Product Engineering Manager.
