- Understanding of Star&Delta motor starter configurations
- Ability to change the rotation of AC Motors
- Ability to read and use multimeter
- Understanding of AC and DC applications
- Understanding of Control Circuits and Power Circuits
- Working knowledge of how to diagnose and repair 24v & 120v electrical shorts/ground faults
- Understand the concept and components used in electricity (i.e., motors, inductors, transformers, capacitors, resistors)
- Ability to identify different types of sensors and their application use (inductive, capacitive, digital, analog, etc)
- Understanding of relay logic (ice cube relays, timers, counters)
- Understanding of motor starters (coil wires, contacts, auxiliaries, holding contact, overloads, etc)
- Ability to work with 480v/277v/208/120v systems troubleshooting
- Understanding of how safety relays work and their interaction with the equipment controlling them (light curtains, safety switches, e-stops)
- Ability to comprehend complex electrical schematics
