To execute our strategy, we are looking to strengthen our organization with a Director of Quoting.
Key Responsibilities
The Director of Quoting will assess the current organizational structure and directly manage the team responsible for quoting all new business, price maintenance, costing engineering changes to existing business and identified/drive customer margin improvements.
In this role, you will:
- Directly manage the team responsible for all aspects related to quoting of product including assessing competitive landscape relating to margins and price sensitivity.
- Maintain price files and update customer prices as required.
- Interact with the sales team to prioritize quoting activity and gain a full understanding of market dynamics including customer margin profiles, competitive landscape and strategic pricing decisions.
- Monitor and verify that the quoting approval process and procedures are followed.
- Develop a standardized quoting model for all regions.
- Work with operations and finance teams to establish and maintain accurate labor time tables and charge out rates used for costing.
- Ensure information gained during quotation process is effectively transferred to the New Product Implementation (NPI) team once business is awarded.
- Provide regular reports to the organization on the status of all quotations and the effectiveness of the costing/quoting process.
- Travel to various locations as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- BA Engineering or Business degree, required.
- Minimum seven (7) years of material cost experience within a wire harness or electrical systems environment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to interpret product drawings in order to review bills of material and labor routers.
- Strong communications and leadership skills to manage direct reports at various locations.
- Good understanding of regulatory agency requirements and environmental compliance legislations
- Excellent computer skills

Primary Location & Work Schedule
The Director of Quoting will be based in Southfield, Michigan.
