The Collections and Reporting Analyst is detail-oriented in managing the cash application process and generating insightful financial reports. The Collections and Reporting Analyst will apply cash received from customers in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
The Collections and Reporting Analyst will perform routine analysis to resolve unapplied cash, reconcile payments received, investigate expectations and/or work with customers to resolve discrepancies. This person will identify areas of opportunity and ways to improve and streamline processes. The Collections and Reporting Analyst will develop daily, weekly, and monthly past due AR reporting. This position will report to the Manager of Accounts Receivable.
In this role, you will:
- Work directly with internal and external resources to reconciliation payments and discrepancies to ensure timely payment and proper cash application.
- Investigate exceptions in cash received.
- Work closely with internal partners and external customers, including, but not limited to, accounts receivable manager, sales, and customer service on resolving existing and future account payments.
- Track past dues and work with assigned customers to resolve payment delay issues.
- Prepare daily AR dashboard.
- Reconciles vendor SCF fees and accrual calculation.
- Adhere to month end deadlines.
- Analyze and measure effectiveness of existing business processes, identifying and resolving gaps in technology, processes, and resources.
- Review and maintain policies and procedures for the Order to Cash organization.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
- 3 years of experience in a similar position.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Power BI skills/knowledge a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to carry out assignments to completion and meet deadlines.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, sales, and customer service.
- Ability to handle a heavy workload and work well under pressure.
- Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks while working in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build technical and detailed work instructions/SOPs and report summaries.
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Basic management, human relations, and project management skills a plus.
