Description
We are looking for a motivated and detail orientated Credit Manager to work independently and collaboratively with our Corporate Credit Manager to oversee our company's credit and collections processes. The Credit Manager will play a key role in enforcing sound credit and collection policies. Ultimately, the Credit Manager will assist in minimizing any bad debts and increasing revenue.
Duties
- Proactively manage the collections of outstanding invoices for assigned account
- Ensure customer payments are made in accordance with agreed upon payment terms
- Communicate effectively with both internal and external customers
- Identify problem invoices for dispute, conduct research, and take the needed steps to resolve them
- Closely monitor problem accounts to prevent bad debt
- Approve or reject Credit applications, based on credibility and potential revenues and losses
- Ensure proper account set ups
- Research and evaluate existing accounts for credit increases
- Review contractor accounts to ensure required project information is complete.
- Participate in branch and customer visits as needed.
- Attend designated NACM electrical group credit meetings
- Adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Proven work experience in a Credit and Collections environment
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a team
- Desire and willingness to grow professionally
- Understanding of collections and credit policies
- Understanding of liens and bonds is a plus
- Experience working in an ERP System (experience with Epicor, Prophet 21 is a plus)
- Excellent analytical skills, with proficiency in spreadsheets (e.g. in Excel)
- Experience in Microsoft Word
