Summary
Electrical Technologies, Inc. (ETI) in Burlington, NC, is searching for an experienced full-time Controller with strong communication, leadership, reporting, and analytical skills. The Controller will report directly to the Head of Finance. The Controller will be responsible for the day-to-day financial management of the company, including accounting, financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, cash management, and tax compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned as required.
- Monthly financial reporting and forecasting
- Monthly review of Balance Sheet account reconciliations
- Monthly Work- In-Process (WIP) schedule for correct revenue recognition
- Monthly financial analysis, including charts and graphs to support Operations.
- Approval of monthly Billing
- Approval of Cash Requirements for Paying Vendors (A/P)
- Coach Staff Accountant into becoming a Senior Accountant or Cost Accountant
- Provide CPA firm and bank with information needed for loans, taxes, etc.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
- PPP Forgiveness application (EIDL can be written off because it does not require an application)
- Re-vamp chart of accounts and define what the accounts should be used for (especially to help Staff Accountant and A/P&A/R Specialist
- Improve process and documentation around Billing
- Current Overhead Allocation appears to include too many accounts…needs to be reviewed and revised
- Non-job costs are currently being coded to the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) accounts and should not be so research and improve process and coding
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 5-10 years of hands-on accounting experience, specifically in the construction industry and job cost accounting
- Experience in Foundation Accounting system and Power BI a plus
- CPA certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Leadership of Accounting Department, including A/R, A/P, and daily accounting operations
- Month end and annual financial reporting
- Financial Analysis
- External CPA firm contact for tax matters
- Enhance company processes and procedures
- Maintain strong internal controls
- Coach accounting staff, as necessary
