Job Overview
The Quality Assurance Assistant Supervisor plays an important role in maintaining the existing Nadcap accreditation program for Reid Metal Finishing’s Aerospace Quality System, Chemical Processing and Non-Destructive Testing certifications. The QA Assistant Supervisor is responsible for all quality assurance systems, including updating the Quality Management System to comply with all the requirements of AS9100D. This position is key in developing and sustaining the vision, business processes, and operational strategy for company-wide production and achieving consistent high quality. The QA Assistant Supervisor collaborates with all Operations dept. leaders to deliver the greatest value to the company while achieving the quality policy objectives, as well as supporting other areas as necessary. The QA Assistant Supervisor supports the implementation of quality systems and processes at the operational level, including the technical and analytical tasks outlined in the associated procedures and work instructions, as well as the implementation of policies and procedures
Duties
- Support activities and documentation related to corrections, corrective actions, and preventive actions to correct and eliminate the potential for non-conformances. Work constructively with cross-functional departments for timely resolution of quality issues.
- Serves as a technical resource for the manufacturing operation, resolving customer issues as they arise and actively supports Quality, Lab, Planning,
- Oversee the technical areas of the Quality Assurance function, including customer claims, internal and external laboratory activities.
- Track documentation issues and patterns and bring to employees and supervisors to identify training issues.
- Assist with the preparation of third-party audits for AS9100, Nadcap Chemical Processing, Nadcap NonDestructive testing, etc. Perform internal and supplier audits, issue audit reports, and follow up to close out actions which address the findings.
- Ensure all quality support systems are updated and maintained. * Initiate SOP changes to streamline, standardize, and improve quality system processes.
- Manage the QA projects by organizing and assigning duties and reviewing work submitted by QA team members.
- Responsible for the promotion of quality awareness and continuous improvement.
- Respond to clients regarding questions about documentation and procedures.
- Customer complaint communication and resolution.
- Coach and provide direction to subordinates and provide support for the long-term strategies of the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Science, or related field or equivalent experience.
- Position requires a seasoned Quality Assurance professional with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Demonstrated success in stretch assignments that are evidence of superior performance in previous roles.
- Prior experience leading, coaching, and mentoring teams.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with AS9100 QMS and Nadcap special processes preferred.
- Must have a track record of success and a broad understanding of contemporary quality practices.
- Proven expertise in the design and implementation of quality processes.
- Experience in development of an organizational culture that promotes and sustains quality as an element of superior business performance.
Computer Skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Processing software (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Knowledge of Visio (Flow charts)
- Understanding of Laboratory software (LabMan)
- Knowledge of calibration recall software
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
