Job Overview
The IT Specialist supports both day-to-day technology needs and the broader infrastructure that keeps systems running smoothly across the office and production floor. The role includes maintaining user devices, embedded systems, servers, and network components, while also contributing to automation and security efforts.
Primary Responsibilities
Desktop Support: Respond to internal support tickets promptly, providing efficient troubleshooting and issue resolution for employees across departments.
New User & Device Commissioning: Set up user accounts and configure hardware for onboarding employees.
Embedded Systems Support: Maintain and support computers integrated into production and shop-floor equipment.
Network Infrastructure: Install network cabling, configure VLANs, and support networking needs for new and existing manufacturing equipment.
Python Scripting: Automate tasks and internal processes using Python. Django or broader web development experience is a plus.
Cybersecurity: Follow and promote best practices to maintain a secure working environment across devices and networks.
Server & VM Maintenance: Monitor, maintain, and back up physical server and virtual machine infrastructure.
Operations Support: Collaborate with operations for production or production support needs as needed.
Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special IT projects that support innovation, improve efficiency, or respond to emerging business or production needs.

- Strong problem-solving skills and a resourceful, solution-focused mindset
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
Qualifications
- Associate degree in a related field, or current enrollment in a program preferred
- Familiarity with Cybersecurity best practices
- Solid understanding of network infrastructure and server maintenance
- Proficiency with Python and scripting
- Familiarity with tools and platforms such as Proxmox, Grafana (dashboards), Loki (log aggregation), Portainer, Docker, Raspberry Pi, Linux, Ubiquiti equipment, PostgreSQL, MQTT, and development environments like VSCode or JetBrains IDEs is a plus.
