Paralegal Job Description
eLegacy is seeking to hire a Paralegal to join our team. You will be supporting our practice by assisting with the preparation of estate planning documents, deeds, probate documents, and legal correspondence, as well as organizing and maintaining files. You will also be asked to file pleadings for probate matters and assist the attorneys with other tasks as required.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be proficient in WealthDocx® drafting software, and Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel. Experience in Clio Legal Software is a plus. Experience with probate law is a must. You will also need to be able to multitask effectively and thrive in a busy, team-oriented environment.
Salary Range: $42,000 - $47,000
Office Hours: 8am-5pm PST Monday through Friday (Office closed to clients on Fridays 12pm-5pm PST)
Paralegal Responsibilities:
· Preparing estate planning documents for attorneys using WealthDocx® templates
· Organizing and maintaining documents in an electronic filing system (Clio & WealthDocx®, as well as internal server)
· Meeting with clients, attorneys, and other professionals to discuss matter details (on the phone, in person, or virtually)
· Discussing draft revisions with clients and making appropriate changes to documents
· Drafting and e-filing Court documents for probate matters (occasionally)
· Drafting and recording deeds
· Close communication with clients and financial advisors to coordinate funding of trusts
Paralegal Requirements:
· Certificate of completion from an ABA-approved paralegal certification program
· Or an Associate’s Degree in paralegal studies
· Or a Bachelor’s Degree in related studies
· Proficient in WealthDocx® drafting software
· Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel
· Experience with estate planning
· Experience with probate law
· Extreme attention to detail
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Cool under pressure and always helpful with clients – clients come first
Must be able to effectively multi-task, manage time-sensitive matters, and exhibit exceptional organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
