Overview
Element has an opportunity for an experienced Senior Metallurgist or Materials Engineer whose primary responsibility is to work as part of the metallurgical failure analysis group and metallurgical laboratory. The role entails the performance of metallurgical failure analysis, reverse engineering, manufacturing problem solving, and other similar evaluations.

Salary: $80K-$120K/yr
Responsibilities
- Perform metallurgical failure analysis on failed metallic (ferrous and non-ferrous) components, generating failure investigation reports with technical findings
- Carry out the mechanical tests for material properties evaluation and weld procedure specification qualification as per various international standards (ASME, API, AWS and BS)
- Perform metallographic examinations on various materials to be determine grain size, cleanliness, volume percentage of phases and general microstructure evaluation
- Ensure work compliance to ISO 17025 requirements
Skills / Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Metallurgy or related discipline
- Minumum 7 years experience working in a laboratory in the field of metallurgy testing
- Minimum 5 years experience required in mechanical tests and failure analysis
- Experience with SEM/EDS, metallographic evaluation, and routine metallurgical testing
