We are seeking a ENTRY LEVEL Tool Maker to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess a background in tool making and machining, with the ability to create and repair precision tools and fixtures. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship. As a Tool Maker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our production processes run smoothly and efficiently.
Duties
- Design, fabricate, and repair tools, dies, and fixtures according to specifications.
- Utilize various machining techniques including lathe operations and electrical discharge machining.
- Interpret schematics and blueprints to determine tool specifications and requirements.
- Employ precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers to ensure accuracy in tool dimensions.
- Collaborate with engineers and production staff to develop tooling solutions for manufacturing processes.
- Conduct routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Work with plastics injection molding processes as needed for specific projects.
- Weld components as necessary to complete tooling projects.
Skills
- Proficiency in SolidWorks for designing tool components.
- Strong understanding of precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers.
- Experience operating lathes and other machining equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics effectively.
- Knowledge of tooling techniques and practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with electrical discharge machining processes is a plus.
- Experience with plastics injection molding is beneficial but not required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
