We are seeking an experienced Lead Fiberglass Technician to oversee and lead our fiberglass production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising and managing the day-to-day operations of fiberglass fabrication, ensuring high-quality production, and maintaining safety and efficiency standards. The Lead Fiberglass Technician will work closely with engineers and other departments to ensure timely and accurate production of fiberglass products for various industries such as automotive, marine, construction, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and Lead Team: Oversee a team of fiberglass technicians, providing direction, training, and support to ensure efficient operations.
- Fiberglass Fabrication: Lead the preparation, molding, and curing of fiberglass materials, ensuring that components meet specified dimensions and quality standards.
- Quality Control: Perform regular inspections and ensure adherence to quality assurance protocols. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with fiberglass products.
- Maintenance and Safety: Ensure proper maintenance of all fiberglass equipment and tools. Promote and enforce safety standards and protocols in accordance with company policies and OSHA guidelines.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and suggest improvements to fabrication processes, enhancing efficiency and reducing production time.
- Training and Development: Provide ongoing training to new technicians and staff, ensuring that all team members are knowledgeable in the latest techniques, equipment, and safety practices.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the inventory of fiberglass materials, ensuring adequate supplies and timely ordering of materials as needed.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team leaders to align production schedules, prioritize orders, and meet deadlines.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, material usage, and other relevant data for reporting and analysis purposes.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve any production issues or defects during the fiberglass fabrication process, minimizing downtime and maximizing product quality.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience working with fiberglass materials and fabrication processes, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of fiberglass molding, casting, and repair techniques, including experience with different types of resins, fiberglass cloth, and matting.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team of technicians. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting abilities to identify issues and implement effective solutions quickly.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail to ensure that products meet quality standards and customer specifications.
- Safety Conscious: A thorough understanding of safety protocols related to fiberglass work, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy materials, work in various environmental conditions, and stand for extended periods.
