Nurse Practitioner position available in a multi-disciplinary practice in_ Staten Island, NY- _start training immediately!

A large part of our patient base consists of federal workers seeking care under federal workers’ compensation insurance.
We are looking for a friendly, motivated and diligent person to collaborate with other healthcare providers within our practice to help our federal patients return to work and reach peak performance. We would fully train you on the Office of Workers’ Compensation (OWCP) claims process- no prior OWCP experience necessary. Strong background in orthopedics or musculoskeletal background preferred.
You would start out working_ two days a month_, with the possibility of adding additional days in the future. You would work as an autonomous/independent employee without the need for an MD Collaborator. We are an outpatient practice- no nights, no weekends, no holidays, no on-call. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Successfully complete training course for working with federal workers’ compensation patients
- Implement and follow protocols and guidelines established by medical directors
- Assess and diagnose patients
- Design treatment programs, follow up and evaluate outcomes
- Educate and empower patients about lifestyle changes for sustainable results
- Utilize EMR systems to track patient progress
REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a Nurse Practitioner degree and New York State license
- 3600 hours experience (approximately 2 years) allow for independent practice
- Must be able to commute into Manhattan during training period (approx 1 day a week for 5-6 weeks)

DESIRED SKILLS
- Orthopedic and/or pain management background
- Experience with injections
- Experience with blood draws
COMPENSATION
- Top end of pay range for experienced prospect ($80-90 an hour)
