What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) - Paid Training position at Elevation Behavioral Science Services?
We are looking for excellent RBTs to join our team!
Full-time is 30-40 hours and Part-time is 15-30 hours (with paid travel time between clients), Monday-Friday. We serve clients in clinic, in home, and in school. Clinics are in Draper and Pleasant Grove.
Work times are daytime (8am-3pm) and after-school (from 3pm-6pm).
Pay Range: $17-23. Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience.

A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a credentialed paraprofessional who works one-on-one with children receiving Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy with Autism and related developmental disabilities in the home, community, and school settings to implement behavior intervention plans and teach needed skills.
On the job duties of an RBT include, but are not limited to:
- Provide direct client care in 1:1 and/or group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training.
- Following Behavior/treatment plans and collecting data about the child's behaviors through direct observation.
- Assisting BCBAs as directed with behavior assessments and giving insight for skill acquisition plans.
- Teaching students the specific behavior and life skills called for in their treatment plan and recording information about the session you gave services in.
- Teaching and nurturing students’ social skills.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
RBT KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to accept constructive feedback and develop knowledge and skill sets accordingly.
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, co-workers, supervisors, and community members.
- Ability to adhere to organizational policies and procedures and abide by code of ethics as indicated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
- Commitment to maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPPA laws.
- Commitment to ongoing training and development as it relates to clinical skills, professional development, ethics, and technology, and training in order to perform job responsibilities to required standard.
- Ability to interpret and implement protocols as written.
- Must maintain a professional appearance with regard to clothing, grooming, hair, and make-up.
BASIC & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time.
- Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection.
- Must be physically present at the assigned job location, which may include home, school, and community placements.
- Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication.
- Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices, and paper means.
- Must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel between different job sites within Utah and/or Salt Lake Counties.
- Must have a valid Utah Driver’s License & insurance in good standing
EXPERIENCE:
Required: None
Preferred: Experienced RBT; Experience working with children ages 0-16 providing support in a classroom or 1:1 setting; experience implementing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis; Speech, Occupational Therapy (OT), ABA, or educational experience
EDUCATION:
Required: High School Diploma
Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, Speech and Hearing Services, or related field.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Employment Supervisor: Executive Director Clinical Supervisor: Board Certified Behavior Analyst
RELATED TRAINING: Responsible for completing and maintaining all required certifications and trainings once employed including, but not limited to: CPR, Fingerprinting & Background Checks, RBT trainings and other company in-services and trainings as directed by employment supervisor. We pay a $500 stipend when you pass your RBT exam, and pay you for in-clinic training and shadow sessions.
