Position Overview:
Hammer & Nails is looking for a passionate and sales-driven General Manager to lead our first location in Omaha. If you're outgoing, energetic, and thrive in a high-energy environment, this is the role for you! As the General Manager, you'll create an exceptional experience for both our members and staff while overseeing the daily operations of the shop. You’ll play a key role in achieving sales targets, managing a talented team, and driving the growth of the business—all while promoting a positive, fun, and dynamic culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Experience:
Welcome all members and guests with warmth, enthusiasm, and authenticity, ensuring every person feels valued and respected. Provide a personalized and memorable experience by facilitating smooth transitions from arrival to service to checkout. Cultivate an inclusive atmosphere where every individual, regardless of background, feels comfortable and welcomed. - Sales Leadership:
Drive sales by promoting memberships, services, and retail products. Lead by example, helping guests choose the best membership options and upselling additional services that elevate their experience. Meet and exceed sales goals through active engagement with customers. - Team Management:
Lead, train, and inspire a team of Member Concierge staff to ensure they deliver top-tier customer service. Foster a positive and energetic work environment that aligns with the company culture. Support staff as needed, providing coaching and feedback to help them grow and succeed. - Operational Efficiency:
Work directly with the owners to develop and implement efficient operational processes. Oversee inventory ordering and stocking to ensure the shop is always prepared and fully stocked. Manage schedules to optimize service for our members while maintaining a balance between productivity and employee well-being. - Business Development:
Actively contribute to the growth of the business by promoting Hammer & Nails in the local community. Build strong relationships with guests, and generate repeat business through exceptional service and strategic upselling. - Administrative Duties:
Ensure smooth daily operations by handling administrative tasks, including appointment scheduling, POS system updates, inventory management, and daily cash handling. Ensure all required opening and closing procedures are followed, and the shop is kept clean and organized.
Qualifications
Key Qualifications:
- Sales-Driven: Proven experience in achieving and exceeding sales goals. A natural salesperson with a developed skill set in upselling and promoting products and services.
- Customer Service: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to provide outstanding customer service. Able to handle and resolve customer concerns swiftly to maintain customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Leadership: Ability to motivate and manage a team, providing guidance and support to achieve high levels of performance.
- Industry Experience: Experience in the salon, cosmetology, or hospitality industry preferred.
- Strong Communication Skills: Comfortable engaging with members and staff both in-person and over the phone.
- Problem-Solving & Organization: Strong ability to juggle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and resolve issues promptly.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in computer systems, POS technology, and basic math for cash handling and transaction processing.

- Greeting & Engagement: Greet all members and guests, ensuring their needs are met with a friendly and welcoming attitude.
- Sales & Marketing: Promote and sell memberships, services, and retail products. Upsell additional services and products based on the customer's needs.
- Team Development: Hire, train, and lead a dynamic team of Member Concierge staff. Provide ongoing support and feedback to ensure the team is aligned with company values and goals.
- Store Operations: Manage inventory, track sales, optimize staff scheduling, and ensure the shop is always stocked and clean. Maintain a positive atmosphere in the shop that reflects the Hammer & Nails brand.
- Customer Experience: Provide shop tours to potential new guests, and ensure clear communication of pricing, services, and membership details.
