Our client, a law firm with several offices throughout New Jersey, has an immediate need for an Paralegal, to join our winning team in Point Pleasant. Our candidate of choice will be responsible for assisting attorneys with complex land use cases, which will include case management, document review, legal research, drafting of pleadings, deposition preparation, hearing and trial preparation and working on appeals to the Appellate Division. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : Knowledge of Land Use and ZoningKnowledge of Tax Appeal workExperience in Wills and Estate LawExperience with DictationSupport Legal Team with legal research, drafting memos, pleadings, and preparing for hearings, and trialsPreparation of documents for filing and scanning.Provides substantive billable legal working under the direction of one or more attorneys in the officeCommunicate with clients and other parties to provide updates and gather informationScheduling meetings, calls, luncheons, etc.Monitor case progress, deadlines, and important timeframes / milestonesDraft documents, indexes, chronologies; prepare contracts; draft letters and court documents; complete legal forms; write reportsMaintain and organize filesManage client relationships and work with expertsResearch laws and judicial decisions about current and past casesBasic data entry and update case management SystemEnter billable and non-billable hours in the Firm’s case management System KEY REQUIREMENTS : Ability to prioritize tasksStrong organizational skillsCandidates must possess excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), have superior organizational abilities, pay attention to detail, be proactive in nature, and have exceptional technology skills.Proficient in M.S.
