About the Opportunity

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving business growth for ELGi Portable Compressors. The ideal candidate will develop and maintain relationships with OEMs, National Rental Accounts (NRAs), and large customers within construction and related industries. This role requires a proactive, strategic thinker with a hunter mentality, strong relationship-building skills, and a proven track record in sales.

Essential Job Functions

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities with OEMs, National Rental Accounts, and large construction equipment customers
  • Develop and nurture long-term relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within target accounts
  • Act as a trusted advisor by understanding customers' needs and offering tailored ELGi solutions
  • Attend trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities to represent ELGi and grow brand awareness
  • Monitor competitor activity and provide market insights to drive competitive advantages
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Deliver engaging presentations and product demonstrations to prospective customers
  • Build and maintain an extensive professional network to generate leads and stay informed about market trends
  • Manage Salesforce CRM system daily by maintaining account information, leads, and opportunity results to ensure accurate forecasting and pipeline progress
  • Other tasks as needed or assigned

About You

  • 7 years of experience in selling construction equipment or similar capital equipment, ideally for an OEM
  • Ideally located in or near St Louis, MO, Cincinnati, OH, Tampa, FL, or Charlotte, NC
