Elgin Industries seeks qualified applicants for the position of Machine Operators - These positions perform a variety of entry level, semi-skilled and/or a skill task, Operates, adjusts, and troubleshoots production equipment.
Operates basic manufacturing equipment in the machining department to fabricate metal parts by performing the following duties.
Schedule: Monday – Thursday: Full Time: 1st shift (6am -4:30pm)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Loads and operates assigned equipment.
Understands and follows work instructions at each assigned workstation.
Monitors process for quality; makes decisions on starting/stopping process according to quality of product.
Performs visual and level 4 quality inspections during production, using instruments such as micrometers, calipers, etc. to ensure parts are good if not to scrap parts.
Makes offset adjustments based on quality of product.
Performs basic tooling changes based on supervisor instructions.
Cross-trains as needed on other equipment.
Maintains records as instructed.
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Other Job Functions:
- Keeps area clean and organized in a 5S manner.
- May assists in training of other employees as required.
- Assists other departments to run production when needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
