Our Stafford, TX facility is seeking a Receiving Coordinator to join our dynamic team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving goods that arrive at the facility. The ideal candidate will have a background in logistics in a warehouse environment.
Key responsibilities of a receiving coordinator:
- Receiving and Unloading:
Unloading deliveries from trucks, checking for damage, and verifying quantities against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Quality Inspection:
Inspecting incoming goods for quality defects, damage, or discrepancies and reporting issues to relevant parties.
- Inventory Management:
Accurately recording received items in SAP, updating stock levels, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Data Entry:
Entering shipment details, including vendor information, purchase order numbers, and quantity received into SAP.
- Labeling and Sorting:
Labeling items with appropriate information and sorting them for proper storage locations.
- Vendor Communication:
Contact Purchasing Dept. to resolve discrepancies or address issues with deliveries.
- Compliance:
Adhering to company policies and procedures regarding receiving, quality control, and safety regulations.
- Logistics Coordination:
Collaborating with other departments like shipping, production, and purchasing to ensure smooth flow of materials.
Required skills for a receiving coordinator:
- Attention to detail: Ability to accurately count and verify quantities of incoming goods.
- Computer proficiency: Familiarity with inventory management systems and data entry applications.
- Physical ability: Ability to lift and move heavy boxes and pallets.
- Communication skills: Effective communication with vendors, drivers, and internal departments.
- Basic math skills: Ability to calculate quantities and verify calculations against documentation.
- Forklift operation: Operate a forklift is required.
- 1 - 2 years experience in logistics, shipping/receiving.
- Must have excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
- Must be at least 18 years old with a clean and valid driver's license.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs
