The Role at a Glance:

Are you a new Computer Science Graduate or an upcoming Data Engineer fresh in their career? We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Data Engineer to join our Business Intelligence team within the Information Services group. This role supports the mission of our 1,800 accounts across the U.S. by developing data models, building data pipelines, building system integrations, managing technical documentation, working with data tables, conducting data migrations, and performing other essential data-related tasks. This role is in office in our Houston based headquarters.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and build API integrations to handle increasing data volume and complexity.
• Monitor and remediate issues with jobs and integrations while implementing ongoing monitoring improvements.
• Collaborate with analytics and business teams to enhance data models that support business intelligence tools.
• Assist in data modeling and data architecture design.
• Model front-end and back-end data sources to create comprehensive user process visualizations.
• Responsible for Azure monitoring, cost optimization, and resource optimization.
• Improve data structures and processes for enhanced efficiency.
• Participate in future data projects and systematic changes.
• Accountable for internal integrations between local systems and with shared Elior Group systems
• Identify, troubleshoot, and communicate data issues while testing solutions.
• Manage access and settings for the data warehouse and administer data processes.
• Understand business processes and document system requirements and integrations.
• Work closely with business units and engineering teams to develop long-term data platform strategies.
  
  

What We’re Looking For:

Must-Haves:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience with Big Data technical stack, including Apache Spark, Azure, CI/CD, Databricks, Python (PySpark or Pandas), and SQL.
• Experience with data integration solutions such as Azure Data Factory.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%. Would need to travel to wherever we are doing work. Could need to go to Traditions/any other site.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience in data warehouse management and/or report development (Databricks experience is a plus).
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong data mapping, profiling, and data quality mindset.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience with Logic Apps – another azure model.
• Knowledge of data storage systems (Azure Data Lake, Azure Delta Lake).
  
  

Compensation:

The salary range is $75-90k/yr. dependent on experience.
