Sr. Voice Engineer
The Senior Voice Engineer at UDT specializes in hosted voice environments. This role plays a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining UDT's advanced telecommunications infrastructure. It collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality voice services to UDT's customers. This role is tasked with managing the service provider voice platform, including aspects such as ensuring availability and uptime, measuring performance, and facilitating growth and expansion.
Responsibilities
- Provide senior-level expertise in both critical situations and day-to-day operations. Knowledgeable in the voice infrastructure and how it relates to other data services and platforms provided by UDT.
- Participate in design discussions with the architecture team and lead implementation of new voice products and services remotely and at customer sites.
- Lead in the creation or adaptation of voice processes to ensure team efficiency and high customer satisfaction.
- Acts as main point of contact for VoIP support vendors.
- Responsible for administering software upgrades to various components of the voice platform. Plan, develop, coordinate and assist in completion of scheduled voice platform maintenance.
- Provide support and leadership for customer issues within the team and coordinate third party vendor interaction, including telecom interconnection partners to ensure prompt and professional resolution. Analyze and resolve complex voice issues in day-to-day and critical situations down to root cause.
- Lead knowledge transfer, cross-training, and documentation for the department. Leverage and generate applicable technical 'best practices' design guides to be used throughout the support organization.
- May conduct customer site visits both pre-sales and post-implementation to ensure high customer satisfaction of the services.
- Participate in after-hours on-call support rotation.
- Other duties as assigned.
