POSITION SUMMARY
The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for the timely and accurate payroll processing of multiple company codes. This includes maintaining employee data, handling payroll questions, handling garnishments, and completing any other tasks necessary for monitoring and overseeing the payroll process. The Payroll Coordinator will work in conjunction with and support of the human resources department. This position reports to the Payroll Supervisor.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ensures timely and accurate processing of weekly payroll
- Provides assistance to customers via ticketing system
- Ensures payroll ACH files and other payroll related files are sent by established deadlines
- Ensures that the weekly payroll bank disbursement sheet is prepared and distributed in a timely manner
- Responsible for maintaining and processing wage garnishments
- Respond to all garnishment and lien letters
- Weekly review of garnishment aging report
- Responsible for input of garnishments according to wage assignment orders
- Processes payroll journal entries by established accounting deadlines
- Maintains computer files in an orderly fashion as required
- Requires using discretion and maintains confidentiality concerning information regarding employees, clients, customers, vendors, and other company business
- Prepare and maintain all required reports to include vacation accrual, general ledger, turnover, overtime, and others as requested.
- Support other areas of Finance and Human Resources as needed.

- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associates Degree in business or accounting preferred but not required
- Minimum of three (3) years of payroll experience required in a high-volume environment (500 employees)
- Knowledge of payroll system and processes required
- Strong PC Skills including but not limited to, MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook
- Experience processing multi-state payroll required
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must be able to sit at a desk and work on a computer for long periods of time
- Works with minimal supervision
- Concentrates for considerable periods of time
- Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays, if needed
