Purchasing Manager

The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically in moldings, millwork, or related industries, and will be highly organized with strong negotiation and communication skills.

Job Summary:

As the Purchasing Manager at Elipticon Wood Products, Inc., you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, including purchasing materials, managing vendor relationships, negotiation contracts, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisitions of goods.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop and implement purchasing strategies to ensure the continuous supply of quality raw materials, components, and supplies needed for production.

· Source and negotiate with suppliers, securing favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.

· Maintain relationships with key vendors and regularly evaluate supplier performance.

· Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the production team to ensure adequate stock of materials.

· Prepare and manage purchase orders, track shipments, and resolve any delivery or quality issues.

· Analyze market trends and adjust purchasing strategies to align with cost-control goals.

· Review and approve invoices, ensuring accuracy in pricing and delivery terms.

· Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to procurement.

· Collaborate with other departments, such as production, logistics, and quality control, to ensure smooth workflow and meet production deadlines.

· Attend daily meetings and communicate issues and recovery plans and share market updates.

· Perform vendor research and selection to enhance profitability, reduce operating costs and boost efficiency.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

· Strong knowledge of materials used in moldings, millwork, or related industries is a plus.

· Proven experience negotiating with suppliers and managing vendor relationships.

· Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing software (ERP systems preferred).

· Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.

· Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.

· Ability to read a tape measure.
