Job Overview

Duties
- Provide one-on-one support to individuals in recovery, fostering a safe and trusting environment.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage clients in setting and achieving personal goals.
- Assist clients in developing coping strategies and skills for crisis management.
- Collaborate with mental health professionals to create comprehensive care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Engage in crisis intervention when necessary, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress in accordance with organizational policies.
- Stay informed about community resources and services available for clients, providing referrals as needed.
Requirements
- Certification as a Peer Specialist or equivalent experience in behavioral health or addiction counseling.
- Strong mentoring skills with the ability to inspire hope and resilience in others.
- Proficiency in crisis intervention techniques and crisis management strategies.
- Background in social work or mental health counseling is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of systems related to mental health care, addiction services, and community resources.
