Duties
- Provide support and assistance to individuals in need, focusing on addiction counseling, mental health counseling, crisis intervention, and behavioral health.
- Conduct assessments to determine the needs and goals of clients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to promote positive change and growth.
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers and mentors, to provide comprehensive support.
- Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records.
Qualifications
-A minimum of a HS diploma or equivalent
-Must be NC certified peer support specialist
-Must be or have been a recipient of mental health services or substance abuse services and in recovery at least one year
-Excellent oral and written communication skills
-Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and assign priorities
-Must have current unrestricted state approved drivers license
-Must have current unrestricted vehicle insurance
-Must have reliable transportation
-Must be at least 18 years of age
-Strong knowledge of addiction counseling, mental health counseling, crisis management, and behavioral health principles and practices
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other professionals.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to working with individuals in need.
