Activity Director - Adult Day Care

Activities Director

Responsible To: Director

The Activity Director will work with team members to provide a balanced program of

therapeutic activities to meet needs and interests of the client.

Minimal Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree or 2 years of experience in the human services field, or

2. A minimum of at least 1 year supervisory experience in a geriatric setting, or

3. At least 2 years of experience in working with the geriatric population, especially

older adults with cognitive and physical limitations

Therapeutic Programming Responsibilities:

1. Manage and coordinate professionally related aspects of the adult day center to be

in compliance with Commonwealth of Pennsylvania licensing regulations and the

contractual agreement of the PCA

2. Familiarize self with on-going ADULT DAY CENTER,

. programs,

3. Plan, schedule and implement therapeutic activities on an individual, small and large

group basis,

4. Assist treatment team to prepare, coordinate and reevaluate a participant's individual

plan of care,

5. Plan, implement and schedule special programs,

6. Review and record monthly activity reports in compliance with licensing regulations

of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,

7. Prepare a monthly activities calendar and post in designated areas within the Center,

8. List scheduled daily activities in appropriate, visible area for clients and family to

review

7. Attend to sudden illnesses and medical emergencies:

a. Report immediately to Director or Nursing

b. Complete appropriate incident forms, as needed

c. Follow up as outlined in licensing regulations of the Commonwealth of

Pennsylvania

8. Maintain current professional, CPR and Basic First Aid certifications

9. Attend quarterly in-service training as scheduled by the Director

10. Assist the participants with personal care as needed

11. Carry out other duties and assignments as needed to endure the smooth operation of

the Center.

Degree of Supervision: On-going supervision by Director

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Morning shift

Work Location: In person
