AVP of Finance
Yonkers, NY (Hybrid — 3 days onsite after 90 days)

This opportunity is with a mission-driven organization seeking a seasoned financial professional to support and manage critical finance and accounting functions. Ideal candidates will have real estate accounting experience, with non-profit exposure considered a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead financial reporting for tax credit and operating companies, ensuring timely and accurate monthly financial statements.
- Prepare and analyze quarterly board reports, providing insights and supporting schedules for executive review.
- Develop and manage the annual corporate budget; conduct quarterly variance reviews and report findings to leadership.
- Serve as the primary liaison for external audits and tax filings, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
- Monitor and recommend operating cash needs, credit line usage, and payroll funding strategies.
- Oversee voucher and collection processes to ensure timely reimbursement of government contracts and efficient cash flow management.
- Manage construction disbursements and accounting for acquisitions, property sales, and conversions.
- Ensure the efficiency of accounts payable cycles and maintain vendor payment processes.
- Mentor and lead the finance team, directly supervising the Director of Accounting and Manager of Financial Reporting.
- Develop and update accounting procedures to maintain compliance with government and audit standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA or MS preferred but not required.
- 10 years of accounting and financial management experience with real estate/property management or non-profit accounting.
- Strong leadership and team management experience.
- Deep understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with database applications.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
