Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday. 8:00am to 5:00pm, hours & days can vary based upon Owner/GC requirements and workload.

Direct Reports: Accounting Manager, Sr. Staff Accountant, Staff Accountant
Job Summary: We are seeking an assistant controller to join our highly successful, PE-backed construction company. The ideal candidate will have a background in public accounting, a current CPA certification, and have experience working with or auditing construction companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including AR, cash management, AP, payroll, and project accounting
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis
- Collaborate with the CFO to develop financial strategies and plans
- Prepare and present financial reports to the CFO and other senior leaders
- Coordinate and oversee the annual audit process
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on construction companies
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent technical accounting and auditing skills
- A strong understanding of percentage of completion accounting
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong excel skills to include pivot tables, lookups, and power query
- Experience in a PE-backed environment is a plus
- Working knowledge of Vista Viewpoint and HCSS Heavy Job is a plus
- Master’s degree in accounting is a plus
