Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Material Handler to join our team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the logistics and distribution process by ensuring that materials are handled, stored, and transported effectively. This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Responsibilities
- Operate various material handling equipment including pallet jacks, forklifts, and reach trucks to move steel pieces and assemblies.
- Load and secure steel and trailer and strap down load.
- Keep various work centers supplied with materials.
- oversee the lay down area by properly storing materials and maintaining cleanliness.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and deadlines.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and report discrepancies as needed.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Skills
- Proficiency in operating pallet jacks, forklifts, and reach trucks is preferred.
- Strong order picking and packing skills with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with RF scanners for inventory management.
- Basic math skills for accurate counting and measuring of materials.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork mentality.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 70 per week
