We currently have an opening for a Material Handler / Clerk for Industrial Physics in our New Albany Indiana location.
JOB SUMMARY:
Our materials team is seeking Material Handler /Inventory Clerk to receive, ship, pick, kit, and cycle count inventory in accordance with established standards and processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Shipping - Domestic and International
- Receiving, material handling, inventory cycle counts.
- Ensure that any defects found during the receiving or picking process are identified and segregated.
- Ability to Cross train on multiple areas for materials. Receiving, Shipping, Work Orders, Kitting etc.
- Work with team members to collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives relating to materials.
- Ensure that all equipment used are maintained in accordance with company protocols
- Perform additional duties beyond the scope of work upon request.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Must be organized and maintain a clean, safe work area.
- Show knowledge of standard shipping /receiving and inventory functions.
- Demonstrated knowledge of computers and ERP systems, freight systems, receive, pick and issue parts for production.
- Be a team player, ready and willing to assist others.
- Participate in LEAN activities to improve efficiency and standard work practices.
- Ability to generate and understand shipping domestic and international paperwork
- Also be able to read and understand receiving and work order paperwork,
- Participate in problem-solving and improvement teams.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. at a time.
- Must be flexible and available for overtime where necessary.
Requirements
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
· High School or High School equivalent diploma required.
· A minimum of 3-years prior manufacturing work experience
