Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Human Resources to lead our HR department and drive strategic initiatives that foster a positive workplace culture. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of HR practices, compliance, and employee engagement strategies. The Director of Human Resources is responsible for developing and overseeing policies and initiatives that support employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits, training, and employee services. This role ensures compliance with employment laws and promotes a productive, engaged workforce by managing HR functions directly and through subordinate supervisors.
**This job is centered around a heavy industrial manufacturing plant. You will be in an office but you will be subject to walk throughs and meetings at the plant. **

- Develop and implement competitive compensation plans through analysis of wage and salary data.
- Forecast personnel needs and develop strategic staffing plans.
- Oversee human resource programs, including:
- Compensation, benefits, and leave administration.
- Employee relations, disciplinary matters, and workplace investigations.
- Performance and talent management.
- Employee productivity, recognition, and morale initiatives.
- Training and development programs.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws, consulting legal counsel as needed.
- Lead and mentor HR staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Develop and implement employee relations policies to enhance job satisfaction and retention.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align HR strategies with organizational goals.
- Design and execute HR policies, processes, training programs, and engagement initiatives.
- Provide professional development opportunities for HR team members.
- Address workplace concerns and disputes, fostering a positive work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Director of Human Resources oversees four HR team members. Responsibilities include:
- Hiring, training, and developing HR staff.
- Assigning and directing work.
- Evaluating performance and providing constructive feedback.
- Implementing disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Addressing employee concerns and resolving conflicts.
Required Competencies:

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 4–10 years of experience in human resources management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices and labor laws.
- Experience collaborating with international headquarters (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, including advanced formulas.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use hands for extended periods.
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 10 pounds occasionally.
- Specific vision abilities include depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- May be required to work in a plant setting exposed to dust, noise or areas that require PPE.
