Job Description
Unit Overview:
Elitecare Medical staffing seeking for a RN in the Preoperative and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), where we provide exceptional care to patients undergoing a variety of surgical procedures. Our unit consists of 10 Preop beds and 4 PACU beds, supporting both Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients preoperatively and postoperatively.
- Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 for admissions and up to 1:5 for discharges in the Preop area; 1:2 in the PACU, adjusting to 1:1 for airway management cases.
- Monitor patient vitals, administer medications, and perform assessments as required.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Utilize Meditech EMR for documentation and patient management.
- Read and interpret cardiac rhythms effectively.
- Serve as a charge nurse when required, coordinating care without a patient assignment.
- Orthopedic surgeries (hips, knees, shoulders, ortho spine)
- TLIF, hernias, laparoscopic cholecystectomy
- OB/GYN procedures (hysteroscopy, hysterectomy)
- Urology procedures (cystoscopy, prostate surgeries)
- ENT surgeries (including pediatric cases)
- Valid RN license in Washington State.
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS.
- Strong critical care skills and a well-rounded nursing background.
- Knowledgeable in cardiac rhythms and monitoring.
- No respiratory therapy equipment such as vents is used in PACU; patients on vents are transferred directly to ICU.
- Currently, there are no nurse aids on the unit, but this may change in the future.
- Charge nurses typically do not take patient assignments but coordinate care as needed.

Salary : $70,000 - $140,000
