What are the responsibilities and job description for the Analog Power Design Engineer position at EliteTechnical?
Our client, a leading federal defense contractor is seeking an Analog Power Design Engineer to be a member of a cross functional team responsible for developing Undersea Communication systems.
The initial contract term is 6 months with the likelihood for extension or conversion based on job performance and business need. The position is 100% Onsite at our client's Design Center in McLeansville, NC.
Responsibilities will include :
High Voltage DC Power systems / Module design including multiple power topology design from a few watts to KW converters.
Diagnose and troubleshoot a problem by narrowing the point of failure sequentially through components.
Use specialized laboratory equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment for development, testing, and troubleshooting.
Write specifications, requirements, and verification procedures for complex electronic systems and components.
Required Skills
Must be US Citizen due to government requirement
Must be able and willing to obtain a DoD Top Secret Clearance (active Secret or Top Secret is preferred)
Requires a Bachelor's degree in STEM field and 5 years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.
Expert level understanding of electrical engineering computer-aided design (CAD) tools and mixed Signal circuit analysis / design
Solid use of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and theories
Circuit Design expertise
Analog design and instrumentation (design and analysis)
Feedback / Control systems experience
Power System architecture and grounding
Isolated Switching Converters
Transmission Line Effects in power systems
EMI test and control methods (MIL-STD-461, FCC / IDE / VDE, etc)
Magnetics Design and High Speed Design experience are desirable
Strong troubleshooting ability : must be able to diagnose a problem by narrowing the point of failure sequentially through components
The use of specialized laboratory equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment for development, testing, and troubleshooting
Experience in writing specifications, requirements, and verification procedures for complex electronic systems and components
Ahead of technology trends with Research & Development (R&D) experience, as well as advanced proficiency in test, troubleshooting, and analyzing circuit card schematics
Motivated to drive innovation around design architectures, assembly, component selection, and electronics design
Exceptional collaboration and communication skills with demonstrated success leading design teams for complex projects
