Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and provide immediate medical assistance to patients.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' conditions, including taking vital signs and performing physical examinations.
- Administer basic life support and triage patients based on their medical needs.
- Utilize durable medical equipment (DME) effectively during patient transport and treatment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities and communicate findings to receiving medical personnel.
- Stay current with emergency medical protocols and participate in ongoing training and professional development.
Requirements
- Valid EMT certification from an accredited program.
- Experience in an emergency room (ER) setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of physiology and basic life support techniques.
- Proficiency in triage processes and the ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks, including lifting patients and equipment as needed.
