Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team, responsible for overseeing and managing estimating functions within our concrete and framing departments. The Senior Estimator will be instrumental in all phases of the preconstruction process, collaborating with owners, general contractors, and internal teams. This position requires a high level of expertise in scope writing, take-offs, scheduling, and value engineering, ensuring accurate and competitive bids for each project.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Manage a team of estimators, providing guidance and oversight to ensure the accurate preparation of estimates, scopes, and proposals for all projects.
- Project Review: Review project plans, specifications, and requirements to prepare detailed and competitive estimates that align with the project’s scope and goals.
- Coordination with Project Management: Ensure a seamless handoff of awarded contracts to the project management team, providing all necessary information to ensure successful project execution.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their needs and ensuring satisfaction throughout the estimating process.
- Workforce Planning: Collaborate with project management to assist in workforce planning, ensuring that resources are available for tentative and upcoming work.
- Revenue Consistency: Work closely with leadership to identify trends in revenue generation, helping to create strategies to maintain a steady flow of work and identifying potential low-revenue periods.
- Training and Development: Provide ongoing training to both new and existing estimating staff, ensuring that best practices, procedures, and industry standards are consistently followed.
- Preliminary Staging Plans: Assist in creating preliminary staging plans in coordination with the general contractor to ensure that work is scheduled efficiently and effectively.
- Cost and Value Analysis: Lead efforts to identify cost-saving opportunities, value engineering options, and other ways to optimize project budgets without compromising quality.
