Job Title : Process Optimization & Training Internship
Reports To : Assistant Director of Operations, Production
Status : Hourly, Non-Exempt
Anticipated projects / work to be completed :
- Monitor the process flow of operators and help capture inconsistencies between workflow and documented work steps in SOP.
- Perform operator tasks as per SOP to ensure the SOP results in the desired outcome.
- Revise existing SOPs to more properly reflect current process.
- Learn and identify training capabilities of in-house training software.
- Develop bilingual Alchemy training videos for quarterly operator training.
- Identify additional ways to enhance training at Ellsworth.
Expected outcomes / key learnings :
Create and describe a flow chart of the data of the entire plant.Improves existing SOP for operators to ensure one standardized process.Alchemy training videos of key responsibilities per operator.Organized Repository of Ellsworth SOPs – digital and hardcopy.Create training for supervisor team to learn how to create and edit Alchemy videos.Proposal of how to create an energized training plan at Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery .Hands-on understanding of how cheese and whey products are made to improve consistency in process.End-to-end understanding of the cheese and whey plants.Collaborating with existing operators and supervisors to identify a best-known way to perform a task or process.Developing efficient, easy-to-follow and effective SOPs that can be used by front-line employees.Developing interactive dynamic trainings to support long-term compliance to processes.Requirements :

Pursuing degree in Food Science, Dairy Manufacturing.Spanish language ability highly appreciated!Schedule / Duration of Internship
Summer : Mid-May through August, 40 hours per weekMust be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization.
