Key Responsibilities :
- Case Management and Strategy :
- Manage a diverse caseload of complex legal matters, with a particular emphasis on litigation in areas such as employment law, law discrimination, personal injury, transnational disputes, and civil rights.
- Develop and implement comprehensive case strategies tailored to the client's unique circumstances and objectives.
- Oversee all aspects of litigation, including case initiation, pleadings, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and post-trial proceedings.
- Litigation and Motion Practice :
- Draft legal documents related to litigation, including complaints, motions, briefs, and legal memoranda, ensuring compliance with procedural rules and court requirements.
- Conduct legal research to support motion practice and trial preparation.
- Participate in oral arguments, hearings, and court appearances, advocating for clients' interests and presenting compelling legal arguments to judges, administrative agencies, and arbitrators.
- Manage the discovery process and collaborate with expert witnesses, consultants, and co-counsel to develop expert testimony, exhibits, and demonstrative evidence to support clients' claims or defenses.
- Conduct settlement negotiations and mediation sessions to explore opportunities for resolving disputes amicably and achieving favorable outcomes for clients.
- Transnational Dispute Resolution :
- Manage disputes involving parties from different jurisdictions, navigating diverse legal systems, cultural norms, and procedural rules.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of transnational disputes, identifying legal issues, risks, and opportunities, advising clients on selecting appropriate dispute resolution mechanisms (arbitration, mediation, litigation).
- Represent clients in international arbitration proceedings before institutions such as ICC, LCIA, and UNCITRAL.
- Advise clients on enforcement of arbitral awards and court judgments across borders, addressing recognition and enforcement issues.
- Business Development and Firm Leadership :
- Participate in business development activities, including client outreach, networking events, and marketing initiatives to attract new clients and expand the firm's client base.
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the firm's client base and revenue streams.
- Contribute to strategic planning, decision-making, and firm management activities to enhance the firm's reputation, growth, and profitability.
- Develop and manage strategic partnerships and alliances with other law firms, legal service providers, and stakeholders to expand the firm's reach, capabilities, and market presence.
- Mentor and supervise junior associates, paralegals, and support staff, providing guidance, training, and professional development opportunities.
