Summer Camp Counselor - Job Description
- Responsible for attendance and greeting each child.
- Responsible for monitoring and interacting with campers throughout the course of the day
- Responsible for ensuring that all children are signed out before leaving the building.
- Responsible for greeting and interacting with parents at arrival and departure times (get to know their names and project kindness and care).
- Responsible for seeing to the welfare, health,h and safety of each child.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining a positive staff culture that empowers our assistants and reflects the values of Extended Day.
- Responsible for supervising all activities.
? Responsible for working with staff to clean room areas thoroughly. All materials are to be returned to their original places. - Supervises physical activities with children such as sports, playground, gym, etc.
- Responsible for attending all staff meetings, workshops, in-house training and safety training. First aid and CPR training will be provided
- Staff must always be aware of the children's position and well-being.
- Reports directly to the Camp Director and Extended Day Director.
*Counselors must be at least 16 years of age
Hours: 40 Hours per week. 8:00am-4:00pm. All staff are responsible for attending staff orientation and CPR/First Aid training prior to the start of camp.
Camp Dates: June 23-July 18 (No Camp July 4, paid holiday for staff)
Pay Rate: $17.50-22.00 commensurate on experience and role
