Walpole Public Schools is seeking a teacher aide (kindergarten), 18.75 hours per week, at Elm Street School effective immediately for the 2024-2025 school year.
Kindergarten Aide Role:
The Kindergarten aide supports students socially, emotionally, and academically in a kindergarten classroom and reinforces behavioral expectations across all settings - playground, halls, Art, Music, PE, etc. The Kindergarten Aide collaborates with classroom teachers.
Duties:
- Assist the classroom teacher in creating an environment that is conducive to learning.
- Assist in maintaining standards of student behavior and the school’s core values.
- Assist classroom teacher(s) in performing specific duties as assigned.
- Assist in providing individual and small-group instruction.
- Assist with transitions - e.g. arrival, from one learning activity to another, dismissal.
- Alert the teacher to the needs of individual students.
- Provide individual assistance to children as necessary.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Help maintain expectations in the classroom; monitor students to keep them on task.
- Perform related work as required.
Salary and benefits per the Cafeteria/Teacher Aide Contract.
