Job Description: Financial Controller- Elmhurst Country Club
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team. The Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in overseeing our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and effective financial management. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in finance, accounting, and leadership, and is capable of driving strategic financial decisions.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and forecasts.
Provide insightful analysis of financial performance to guide decision-making.
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting principles, regulations, and standards.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Lead the development of annual budgets and long-term financial plans.
Collaborate with department heads to create detailed budget projections.
Monitor actual performance against budget, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
Cash Flow Management:
Oversee cash flow forecasting, optimizing liquidity and managing working capital.
Implement strategies to manage cash flow, reduce risks, and improve efficiency.
Financial Controls:
Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Monitor and enhance financial policies, procedures, and systems.
Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Board Communication:
Serve as the primary liaison between the finance department and the Board of Directors.
Communicate financial updates, analysis, and recommendations to Board members effectively.
Risk Management:
Identify potential financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations, audits, and reporting requirements.
Evaluate investment opportunities and make recommendations to optimize returns.
Team Leadership:
Manage and mentor a finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and growth.
Provide guidance and training to develop the team's skills and capabilities.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial goals with business objectives.
Communicate financial insights to senior management, offering strategic recommendations.
Financial Analysis:
Analyze financial data to support decision-making and identify areas for improvement.
Assess financial performance and trends, providing actionable insights to drive efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; Master's degree or CPA preferred.
Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role in a complex organization.
Strong knowledge of financial principles, regulations, and reporting.
Proficiency in financial software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Exceptional leadership and communication abilities.
Detail-oriented, with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Experience in Golf Country Club/Private Membership organizations is a plus.
