Elmington Construction is seeking spring interns/co-ops for various markets including Nashville, TN and Austin, TX. We firmly believe in promoting from within. Elmington Construction's internship program is designed to provide you a pathway to a career in construction. Candidates should currently be majoring in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
Intern positions available include project management, field management, estimating, development services, and planning/scheduling.
Estimating Interns: Gain insight into the assisting with estimating, preparation of quantity takeoffs, budgeting, and project scope development
Project Management Interns: Gain competence in writing RFIs, reviewing submittals, material procurement, assisting with document control, and managing the project schedule
Field Management Interns: Gain hands-on, real-world experience managing field coordination, jobsite management, and managing the project schedule
Development Services Interns: Gain understanding of managing the construction process as an owner's representative by supervising work of GC, architects and other development related third parties to ensure the scope of work gets accomplished within budget and schedule
Planning/Scheduling Interns: Gain an understanding of construction processes, use of software to manage and track schedules, identify, and manage potential risk and delays and develop contingency plans to address them
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Assist in putting together budgets.
•Subcontractor coordination and supervision.
•Project document and shop drawing review.
•Correspondence with the architect and engineers.
•Quality control inspections.
•Progress tracking, documentation, and administrative duties.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
