Job Overview
The Dental Assistant plays a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care, while simultaneously supporting the dentist with a variety of procedures. A strong understanding of dental terminology, medical records, and the ability to work with various dental technologies is critical to success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during a wide range of examinations and procedures including restorative, preventive, and cosmetic treatments.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms according to proper protolcs.
- Ensure all required instruments and supplies are available.
- Maintain accurate medical records and patient charts, ensuring all information is up-to-date.
- Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft, Epic, or Dentrix for scheduling appointments and managing patient information.
- Perform tasks related to medical imaging and 3D scanning as required.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient pateint flow and excellent care delivery.
- Commit to continuous learning and professional development in the field of dentistry.
Qualifications
- At least one year of dental assisting, required
- Completion of a Dental Assisting course, preferred
- Proficiency in using dental software (Eaglesoft, Epic, Dentrix), preferred.
- Knowledge of medical imaging techniques and 3D scanning technology, preferred.
- Orthodontic and/or Invisalign experience, preferred.
