Radar Systems Engineer

ELTA North America (ELTA NA ) is a global leader in the design, manufacture and support of innovative electronic systems for the United States government and Israel's Ministry of Defense. ELTA NA is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Radar Systems Engineerfor Defense programs. The Radar Systems Engineer will develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements, collaborate with customers and analyze and translate requirements system architecture, hardware and software designs, and interface specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Performs, normally as a lead of a development, sustainment, or operations and maintenance team, a range of design, development, analysis, or review tasks on more complex radar engineering assignments
• Plans, oversees and supports various radar engineering tasks, including Control, Microwave Engineering, Antenna Theory, Signal Processing, Communications, and Computer Engineering.
• Researches, designs, develops, manufactures, tests, installs, integrates, sustains, operates, and maintains diverse software, electronic, and / or mechanical equipment and systems
• Develops and documents complex electronic and electrical system requirements, working with customers; and analyzes and translates requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs, and interface specifications
• Coordinates and works closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements
• Writes and manages system and software requirements according to customer specifications; develops, maintains, and produces technical documentation and system specifications, conforming to company engineering standards and contract requirements; and verifies and complies with engineering documentation standards and test procedures
• Research technology advances for potential application to company business needs, and makes recommendations for technology investments
• Prepares, delivers, and submits technical papers and performs engineering studies. Supports development of technical proposals and provides comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.
• Generates complete design specifications, analyses, and design reviews for more complex projects; and leads work to test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
