What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Access Representative position at Ely-Bloomenson Community Hospital?
We are looking for our next Team member that can meet the demands of offering only the Highest Five Star Service to our customers.
Primary Responsibilities Include, but no limited to:
- Greet and assist patients in a professional and courteous manner.
- Checking patients in and out for medical appointments with the highest level of accuracy
- Answering the phone to address a variety of inquiries to provide Great Customer Service
- Accurately documenting insurance information, personal information, payment methods and other important patient information
- Accurately updating patient files and appointment information
- Works well under press during stressful patient emergency situations. Will be taking information from the Ambulance services in emergencies.
- Communicating information with patients and staff in a clear and concise manner
- Managing various types of clerical duties dependably and punctually
- Have great Team Collaboration while working with a variety of other departments to maintain proper workflow.
- Provide administrative support which includes clerical work, patient assistance and recordkeeping.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and follow all compliance requirements.
Qualifications Required:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Typing proficiency, 40 wpm
- Experience and knowledge in Microsoft Office, including Outlook
Qualifications Preferred:
- Epic experience
- Courses in business and computers, completion of a Medical Secretary, Ward Clerk, or Health Unit Coordinator certificate

Wage Range based on experience: $19.66 - 22.60, along with great benefits and generous paid time off package.
