Position: Recruiter / HR Assistant
The Recruiter / HR Assistant will work under the guidance of the Senior Human Resources Manager and other company leaders to coordinate and provide support in several areas of human resources, including but not limited to recruiting/onboarding, new hire orientation, attendance discipline, file and systems management and compliance.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Hourly Recruitment Cycle: External and Internal Job postings, candidate screening, scheduling phone and onsite interviews, candidate plant tours, coordination with hourly hiring managers, pre-employment screenings and onboarding, applicant tracking
· Attend job fairs, build relationships in the community for recruitment (High Schools, LCJVS and other employment programs in the area)
· Maintain the Paycor Applicant Tracking System: Candidate tracking, process flow, candidate communication, etc.
· Conduct New Hire Orientation weekly, including ensuring all orientation materials are updated
· Main point of contact for New Hire Orientation coordination and updates
· Enter new employee information into Paycor with attention to detail
· Work closely with other departments in supporting employees, customers and visitors
· Assist in creating and maintaining employee files and audit existing hourly employee files to ensure compliance and accuracy
· HR plant time: Time spent regularly out in the facility as a visual presence and to understand the business
· Hourly employee point of contact for day-to-day questions and support, answering the main phone line and attend to visitors at the main entrance as needed
· Hourly Employment Verifications
· Assist with Unemployment claims
· Assist with company employee engagement events (company picnics, engagement activities, etc.)
· Provide administrative support as directed
o New Hire Materials, benefits packets, quality training packets, postings, employee communication boards
· Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
· Associates degree in Human Resources or related field plus 1-3 years’ experience or a combination of education and experience
· Base knowledge of local, state and federal laws and regulations
· Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PPT, Outlook
· Experience in an Applicant Tracking System and HRIS (Paycor or similar)
· Strong attention to detail, well organized
· Communicates effectively with different levels verbally and in writing
· Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably heavy mfg.
· Ability to work in a changing, fast-paced environment and adapt quickly
· Must have strong internal and external customer service skills, with the ability to develop relationships
· Demonstrated ability to work independently with the ability to solve problems.
· Must be able to receive and handle information that is sensitive and confidential and be a trusted work partner.
· Preferred: Bilingual in English and Spanish
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
· Handle moving objects: Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning and moving materials.
· The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
· Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking stooping and handling materials.
· Indoor and outdoor climate conditions during all seasons and in varying temperatures.
· Ability to lift items up to 25 lbs.
