Position Objectives
elysewalker is looking for a Senior Accountant. This is a full-time opportunity, in which the Senior Accountant will manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department. This position is responsible for supporting management to maintain accurate financial records and contributing to ensure compliance.
This position reports into the Accounting Manager and is based in our Corporate Office in Los Angeles.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Oversee daily tasks of the accounting department including daily deposits and bank reconciliations
- Experience in dealing with the full cycle of accounting transactions, including the following:
Payables transactions
Billing transactions
Payroll transactions
Fixed asset transactions
Inventory transactions
Sales associated COGS transactions
Journal entry preparation
Account reconciliations
Month End close
General Ledger maintenance
Preparation of financial statements
Variance analysis
- Liaison with store teams and other departmental operations when applicable
- Serve as the expense management administrator and review associated reimbursements
- Analyze and prepare sales tax filings and payments through Avalara
- Review the “Accounting” inbox for department communications
- Assist in managing review requests including Year End Audit
- Maintain documentation of proper accounting policies and procedures
- Provide recommendations for improving processes and procedures
- Protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential and operating with a high level of integrity
Required Skills
- 4 years or more of related experience required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in NetSuite preferred
- Detail and solution-oriented
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer & lifting to 15 pounds
- Accounting Degree required
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
