Responsibilities
- Supervise nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal patient care.
- Coordinate patient care activities, including triage and IV infusion procedures.
- Administer injections and assist with various medical procedures such as suturing.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals in internal medicine practices.
- Manage patient records using Athenahealth or similar electronic health record systems.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures while promoting a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Conduct training sessions for nursing staff, fostering professional development and adherence to best practices.
- Participate in family planning discussions and provide education to patients as needed.
- Oversee the ventilatory management of patients requiring respiratory support.
Skills
- Proficient in triage procedures and IV infusion techniques.
- Experience administering injections and performing sutures is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of internal medicine principles and practices.
- Familiarity with Athenahealth or similar electronic health record systems is preferred.
- Previous experience in a hospital or teaching hospital setting is advantageous.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage nursing teams.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment while prioritizing patient care.
