What are the responsibilities and job description for the Guest Service Agent/Front Desk position at Embassy Suites Charlotte/Ayrsley?
Under general supervision, the Front Desk Agent (FDA) is focused on providing efficient service and creating memorable experiences by making emotional connections with all of our guests. The ideal candidate must have a friendly and welcoming attitude, respond to guest and associate concerns with empathy, and resolve issues in an efficient manner. This is the ideal position for someone who has a passion for guest service, can deliver complete guest satisfaction throughout the stay, and values problem resolution. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, remain calm under pressure, demonstrate excellent communication skills, resolve problems independently, and is good working with computers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include but are not limited to:
1. Delivers a high level of customer service at all times.
2. Ensures an efficient reception experience for Guests, including check in/out, and problem anticipation/resolution.
3. Ensures that Managers are kept fully aware of any relevant feedback room guests and/or other departments.
4. Achieves positive outcomes from Guest queries in a timely and efficient manner.
5. Demonstrates a knowledge of hotel room categories, room rates, packages, promotions and other general product knowledge necessary to perform daily duties.
6. Maximizes room occupancy and use up-selling techniques to promote hotel services and facilities.
7. Uses the correct procedures regarding the acceptance of currencies, credit cards and cash in accordance with hotel credit policy.
8. Complies with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety regulations.
9. Acts in accordance with policies and procedures when working with front of house equipment and property management systems.
10. Attends appropriate training courses, when required.
11. Follows company brand standards.
12. Assists other departments, as necessary.
13. Performs other duties as required within the scope of responsibility.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty to a satisfactory standard. Education and/or Experience: High School diploma of GED equivalent is preferred. Must be friendly and have an outgoing personality. Minimum of six (6) months previous customer service and cash handling experience. Ability to stand and move throughout the Front Office and continuously perform essential job functions.
License/Certification: A valid driver's license is required.
Language Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Ability to exercise excellent communication, organization, time management and listening skills. Fluency in a second language is an advantage.
Computer Skills: Intermediate to advanced computer literacy required. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. OnQ certified a plus. Must have basic computer skills and the ability to multitask.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Duties are generally performed in an indoor office setting. Must be able to work weekends and evenings as required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
