A Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and proper storage of all china glass and silver and ensuring the highest standards of sanitation. He/she is also responsible for assisting the kitchen staff in maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and all storage areas; specifically for cleaning all equipment utensils and the physical work area. He/she is also responsible for assisting with proper food storage and rotation.

Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to ensure a safe food preparation environment.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report any shortages to management.
- Ensure all dishes, glassware, and silverware are cleaned promptly and stored properly.
- Support culinary staff during busy periods by assisting with basic cooking tasks or food handling as required.
- Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling and sanitation.
- Participate in the setup and breakdown of banquet events as needed.
Skills
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in a hotel or restaurant setting.
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and safety regulations.
- Strong cleaning skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Basic culinary skills are an advantage but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential.
- Excellent teamwork abilities with strong communication skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
